Quotes About Forgiveness And Letting Go

This is from the journey beyond divorce podcast. This was huge for me for understanding the importance of forgiveness. Forgiveness is for my benefit, not for anyone else’s. It doesn’t make everything ok, it doesn’t mean I wasn’t hurt, but it means I can start to let go

Discover Yourself After Separation

Divorce is such an emotional time, one of the most emotional and stressful thing you can experience in your life. And if you divorce with children, it’s most likely that you’ll have a relationship with the father of your children in some form for many years to come. It’s so easy to get stuck in a cycle of blame and hate, but it will get you nowhere, it really won’t. Instead, striving for indifference, focusing on bettering yourself every day regardless of your situation or who might be in it, that’s where happiness is. The day you wake up and can say ‘this doesn’t bother me anymore’ is the day you’ll set yourself free.

Inspirational Quotes About Divorce And Children

This keeps me strong for my babies. Keeps me from throwing in the towel

Nathan Wells

As a single mother with 50/50 shared custody, my daughters are cared-for and influenced equally by myself and their father. In the early years of separation, parent rivalry was rife. Who could be the best parent? Provide the best home? The best entertainment? And this meant outdoing and undermining one another. There is nothing our children hate more than this. Now their father and I have learnt to work together. By doing so, we provide much better support with clear boundaries that allows our girls to not only thrive, but to understand the importance of collaboration and respect.

Relationships After Separation Quotes

A good friend of mine sent me this not long after my husband left me. It gave me hope that someday all of those words would come true. That some day I will let go and I will find someone new.

Quotes About Divorce And Moving On

When I got divorced, I was devastated, filled with fear, and drowning in my loneliness. As part of my desperate efforts to stop all the pain I was experiencing, I read just about everything that held a promise of help. Somewhere along the way, I stumbled across The Serenity Prayer.

A couple things worked for me about this prayer. When I repeated it to myself again and again and again at 3am when I couldn’t sleep, I eventually stopped feeling so horribly alone. The prayer also helped to calm my anxious mind by reminding that I didn’t have to try to fix everything. Some things were simply out of my control and that was OK.

Quotes About Divorce And Starting Over

In the early days, I felt so surrounded by sadness and as though I was going through the paces to the point all I could ever look ahead to was the next hour, the next meal, the next alarm clock wake up. Remembering that I don’t need to see the whole picture or the final destination in that moment but I do need to keep moving forward was so helpful.
